Bring high-energy fun to your next event with our Gaga Ball Inflatable Pit! Gaga Ball is a fast-paced form of dodgeball that is normally played in a pit, making it perfect for players of all ages. With soft inflatable walls and quick-moving rounds, this game keeps everyone laughing, active, and coming back for more.
While there are several variations on how the game can be played, the rules below are the most common and help keep the game competitive, fair, and fun.
How to Play Gaga Ball
Players
Normally played with 8–12 players inside the pit at one time.
Starting the Game
Everyone in the pit must be touching the wall. One player tosses the ball into the center of the pit and it must bounce twice on the ground. As it bounces, players chant “Ga” for each bounce — after the second bounce (“Ga-Ga”), the ball is live.
Gameplay Rules
• Players slap-hit the ball with their hand, aiming at another player’s legs at the knee or below.
• If the ball hits a player at the knee or below, that player is out and must exit the pit.
• If a player makes contact with the ball at the knee or below, that player is out.
• If the ball goes out of the pit, the last person the ball touched is out.
• Players may only hit the ball one time until it touches another player or the wall.
• The ball may be bounced off the wall to help with positioning.
• Players may move anywhere inside the pit during the game.
• Throwing, catching, or kicking the ball is not allowed.
Ending the Game
The game ends when the last player remains. To speed up the final round, a countdown may be used to declare a tie. Once the game ends, all players re-enter the pit to start a new round.
Great for Large Groups
For events with lots of players or limited time, rotation play is recommended instead of elimination. A set number of players stay in the pit while others line up. Each time a player is out, the next person in line enters — ensuring everyone gets a chance to play during a short period of time.
